EN ENSENADA LA BARCAZA MÁS GRANDE DE MÉXICO

El pasado 15 de diciembre, el Cesionario Infraestructura y Servicios Portuarios (ISP), puso a flote la barcaza de carga sobre cubierta de 10 mil toneladas de peso muerto, nombrada “Barcaza de Sal 16”.
El director general de la Administración Portuaria Integral de Ensenada, Héctor Bautista informó que la embarcación es propiedad de la Exportadora de Sal, S.A. de C.V. que transportará sal industrial de Guerrero Negro, Baja California Sur a Isla Cedros localizada en el Océano Pacífico.
Cabe destacar que es la barcaza más grande construida en México en los últimos 25 años, siendo el primer proyecto de ISP, lo que representa un área de oportunidad para el desarrollo económico de Baja California.
Las dimensiones de la barcaza son: de eslora 102.65 metros, manga 29.2 metros, puntual 6.1 metros.
Roberto Curiel, director general de Infraestructura y Servicios Portuarios, explicó que este proyecto se llevó a cabo después de ganar una licitación pública internacional y fue construida con casi 3 mil toneladas de acero 83 % hecho en México y 100 % de mano de obra nacional.
“Indudablemente esto ha sido el mayor reto que como astillero hemos enfrentado, sin embargo, a exactamente un año después de haber comenzado el corte de acero, aquí nos encontramos, con una enorme satisfacción y orgullo, a punto de poner a flote y hacer entrega de nuestro primer casco”, expresó.
Gracias a la barcaza “De Sal 16” se generaron 200 nuevos empleos y se conservaron 150, promediando alrededor de 330 puestos formales apoyando al fortalecimiento de la mano de obra local y nacional.
“Competir con los astilleros chinos no es sencillo, tienen mucha experiencia, mano de obra más barata, subsidios gubernamentales, sin embargo, por eso nos llena de orgullo no sólo haber ganado esta licitación, sino demostrar que proyectos como este si se pueden hacer en México” concluyó Curiel.
