Un trayecto incomparable, que abarca de Playa Altamira a Bahía de los Ángeles, es el que incluye el Paseo Ciclista «Cruzando la Baja» en su VIII edición.
Se esperan alrededor de 250 participantes de distintas ciudades de la República Mexicana y de los Estados Unidos. La llegada de los ciclistas a Playa Altamira será el día viernes 4 de mayo, en donde acamparán y pernoctarán para el sábado 5 iniciar con el recorrido hacia la Misión de San Borja de Bahía de los Ángeles.
La ruta que deben cubrir los ciclistas es de 110 kilómetros, desde Playa Altamira ubicada en la costa del Pacífico hasta Bahía de los Ángeles en el Golfo de California, donde los ciclistas podrán apreciar y disfrutar del desierto central y su riqueza de flora.
Muchos de los ciclistas harán una escala técnica en la Misión de San Borja, para hidratarse y relajarse. En el restaurante Alejandrina de Bahía de los Ángeles se les hará una recepción a los participantes, en donde habrá una celebración, así como rifas de bicicletas, entrega de medallas y regalos.
Este tipo de eventos son de gran beneficio para el sector hotelero, restaurantero, áreas para acampar, entre otros, debido a la afluencia de visitantes que se registran en la zona.

Por otra parte, también se desarrollará la 39 edición del tradicional paseo ciclista Rosarito-Ensenada, el cual se llevará a cabo el próximo sábado 05 de mayo.
Este es uno de los eventos turístico-deportivo más consolidado en la región, donde se espera la participación de al menos 6 mil ciclistas.
La salida será a las 10 horas en el bulevar Benito Juárez frente al Hotel Rosarito Beach en Playas de Rosarito, y el recorrido culminará en el Centro Estatal de las Artes de Ensenada.
El paseo comprende una distancia de 80 millas por la carretera libre Tijuana-Ensenada, donde a lo largo del trayecto se contará con la presencia de corporaciones de seguridad de los tres órdenes de gobierno para mayor seguridad de los ciclistas.
Se exhorta a todos los participantes, ya sea en el paseo o acompañantes, a tomar las debidas precauciones y consideren el tiempo de traslado, ya que la carretera se encontrará congestionada.
