El periódico Excélsior visitó el estado gracias a la gestión de la chef repostera Bianca Cancerío, lo que resultó en un viaje que permitió a la escritora experimentar la Baja y sus bondades culinarias.
El artículo fue publicado en la portada del suplemento “Pimienta” de Excélsior, el cual se especializa en temas gastronómicos, tanto en la edición impresa como en el portal www.excelsior.com.mx, lo que permite llegar a más de 11 millones de personas, al alcanzar un tiraje diario de 90 mil ejemplares mientras el portal tiene más de 10.97 millones de visitas al mes. Además su valor comercial se estima supera los 258 mil pesos.
El Fideicomiso de Promoción con el apoyo de Turismo han concentrado gran parte de sus esfuerzos en promover Baja California como un destino turístico a través de acciones que no signifiquen un gasto adicional y que tengan resultados palpables, como por ejemplo este artículo que fue resultado de un viaje de familiarización con medios nacionales.
La publicación describe la cocina de Mexicali como “una de las culturas culinarias más versátiles de México”, debido a su mezcla de estilos que van desde un corte a la parrilla, comida china y mariscos provenientes del Golfo de California, lo cual ha permitido que la oferta gastronómica se convirtiera en uno de los principales motivos para visitar la entidad.
