En atención a un reporte telefónico realizado por personal del hotel Coral y Marina, sobre la presencia de una pareja de zorrillos, en las áreas destinadas para el atraco de embarcaciones en las inmediaciones del inmueble, al lugar acudió personal de la PROFEPA, mismos que realizaron la contención física de los zorrillos, que posteriormente fueron colocados en trasportadoras.
De acuerdo con los trabajadores del hotel, los ejemplares salían constantemente en busca de comida, por lo que se encontraban en peligro por ser un área de tránsito de los hospedantes.
Una vez capturados los zorrillos fueron llevados a revisión y valoración médica, encontrándose en óptimas condiciones de salud, por lo cual se procedió a reintegrarlos a su medio, en las inmediaciones de un área silvestre fuera de la zona urbana, ubicada en el Arroyo San Miguel, Delegación del Sauzal-
Las autoridades ambientalistas indicaron que es común que en esa zona transiten ejemplares de vida silvestre que buscan comida, por lo que los inspectores consideraron conveniente dejar las trampas instaladas en las inmediaciones del hotel, para posibles capturas futuras.
