Este sábado 8 de septiembre se llevará a cabo La Noche de las Ciencias, donde el CICESE, UNAM y la UABC abren sus puertas para que la comunidad conozca parte de sus laboratorios, equipos y los proyectos que están desarrollando.
Estas visitas se complementa con exposiciones, charlas, talleres didácticos y presentaciones artísticas durante una jornada que inicia a las 3 de la tarde y termina a las 9 de la noche.
Son visitas guiadas a 30 laboratorios de las tres instituciones, 29 exposiciones interactivas y dinámicas, 19 talleres didácticos -algunas dirigidas exclusivamente a menores de edad- 18 charlas de divulgación, así como observaciones del Sol y un planetario móvil, teatro guiñol y de sombras para niños, danza contemporánea con Clica Arte Escénico y música a cargo del grupo Stil Band.
Quienes deseen asistir pueden ir al Circuito de la Ciencia en vehículo propio y dejarlo estacionado en el nodo vial, o abordar el transporte gratuito que proporcionará en XXII Ayuntamiento de Ensenada.
Habrá dos puntos de salida: el edificio del DIF Municipal (Reforma y Ramírez Méndez) y el museo Caracol. De ida, los camiones saldrán cada media hora desde las 2 de la tarde hasta las 6 de la tarde. El regreso será de las 3:30 a 9:30.
Considerando que son 100 las actividades agendadas, muy diversas y que el tiempo es limitado, se recomienda consultar anticipadamente el programa general y planear los recorridos porque sería imposible recorrer todo en cinco horas.
El CICESE programó visitas a 21 laboratorios, 24 exposiciones y dos talleres cada 30 minutos en cuatro sedes: los edificios y estacionamientos de Ciencias de la Tierra, Física Aplicada, Oceanología y Acuicultura. Además, ofrecerá nueve charlas breves (de 20 minutos) en el auditorio “Pedro Ripa”, ubicado en el primer piso de Oceanología.
La UABC presentará teatro de sombras y guiñol, el planetario, acceso al Museo Katsuo, al laboratorio de totoaba y varios talleres en la explanada central y en instalaciones de las facultades de Ciencias y de Ciencias Marinas.
La UNAM abrirá ocho laboratorios, ofrecerá nueve charlas, cinco exposiciones y un taller de observación de objetos celestes en el Instituto de Astronomía y en el Centro de Nanociencias y Nanotecnología.
El museo Caracol, el Centro Estatal de las Artes (CEART) Ensenada y el XXII Ayuntamiento de Ensenada también participan en esta casa abierta ofreciendo talleres y presentaciones artísticas.
Caracol tendrá ocho talleres para niños: tres se ofrecerán en el CICESE, tres en la UABC y dos en Astronomía. El CEART Ensenada ofrecerá danza contemporánea con el grupo Clica Arte Escénico en el auditorio de Ciencias de la Tierra del CICESE a las 4:30 y 7:30 de la tarde, el grupo musical Stil Band alrededor de las 8:20 de la noche en el Andador Cultural de la UABC. Justo con este concierto y con la conferencia previa de Gisela Heckel (CICESE) sobre “Mamíferos marinos en Baja California” (20:00 horas en el mismo foro), cierran las actividades de la jornada.
El XXII Ayuntamiento ofrecerá el taller “3 R’s con valores” en el estacionamiento de Oceanología del CICESE.
Con esta segunda edición de La Noche de las Ciencias, las tres instituciones académicas asentadas en este puerto -que recibió la designación en 2011 como Ciudad del Conocimiento por el cabildo de Ensenada- continúan labrando un proceso de acercamiento de la ciudadanía con la ciencia y la tecnología.
La idea de organizar La Noche de las Ciencias surgió de una visita a Ensenada que hiciera en 2016 el doctor Raúl Rojas, reconocido experto en redes neuronales artificiales y en inteligencia artificial que trabaja en la Universidad de Berlín.
Está inspirada en el modelo que se utiliza en Alemania para la Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften –LNDW, o Larga Noche de las Ciencias-, que arrancó en Berlín en el año 2000 y que se ha extendido exitosamente a varias ciudades de Alemania. Por ello se propuso replicarlo aquí aprovechando la agenda del Año Dual México Alemania 2016-2017.
