Además de las manteconchas otros productos que deben pagar el IEPS son bebidas alcohólicas, tabaco, combustibles y refrescos, y otros alimentos no básicos como confitería, productos derivados del cacao, postres como flanes.
De acuerdo con el IEPS se debe pagar impuestos con la venta o importación de bienes de bebidas con contenido alcohólico y cerveza, alcohol, alcohol desnaturalizado y mieles incristalizables, tabacos labrados, gasolinas, diésel, entre otros; y con la prestación de servicios de comisión, mediación, agencia, representación y correduría, entre otros.
Los alimentos en los que el IEPS no se aplica es en los considerados básicos, como en las cadenas de trigo -tortillas de harina y pan no dulce tipo telera o bolillos-, y de maíz -como las tortillas-.
